Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This page has two parts. The first summarizes, in plain language, the terms of working with Connected Differently Media on a website or marketing project. The second covers the terms of using this website. It isn't itself the final agreement for a specific project: every project is confirmed in an approved written quote before any work begins, and if anything below and your approved written quote ever differ, your approved written quote governs.

Working with us

How a project starts

We start by discussing what you need. For an existing website, that can include a free site check; if you don't have a site yet, we'll discuss your goals instead. You then receive a written quote covering your build and the monthly plan you choose, if any. You review everything before your site goes live, and nothing is billed until you approve a quote.

The free site check and contact form

The site check is free and carries no obligation. Its findings are our honest read of your public pages, not a guarantee. Sending the form or requesting a check doesn't commit you or us to anything; nothing is agreed until you approve a written quote. Please don't send passwords or payment details through the form.

Website build pricing and scope

  • Builds start at $2,500 (Starter), $4,500 (Standard), $6,500 (Signature) and $8,500 (Advanced). These are starting points, not fixed packages.
  • Your quote depends on the design, content, functionality and any work needed to move your existing website, and it can come in above the starting price. Page allowances describe where each option starts; they don't promise that every project with that many pages costs the minimum.
  • We agree on the scope and price in your approved written quote before work begins. That price covers that scope, including the two rounds of revisions and any corrections to our own mistakes described below.
  • Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted separately and need your approval before we do them.
  • Starter includes proofreading and formatting of the text you supply; Standard adds light editing; Signature adds deeper editing on the pages your approved written quote names. Writing or researching copy from scratch isn't part of that editing; it's priced as an add-on.
  • A gallery, portfolio or catalog in your approved written quote defines its layout, how many entries we load at launch, who provides the content, and any browse, search, filter or checkout features. Embedding a booking service you already use is different from building custom scheduling, which is priced individually.

Add-ons

Add-ons such as extra pages, copywriting, a Spanish version, booking setup and online stores are priced on our Services & Pricing page. We confirm the cost in writing before starting, and we never charge again for something your build already includes.

Payment

One-time builds are billed half to start and half at launch. The first half is refundable until we start work on your project; once work has started, it isn't refundable. We confirm the start date in writing. Monthly plans are billed in advance on the 1st of each month, for that calendar month's service. If your plan starts after the 1st, your first month is pro-rated. Monthly fees aren't refundable. Texas sales tax is added to taxable services where it applies. Any third-party software or subscription fees required for your project, if any, are passed through at cost.

Revisions

Each build includes two rounds of revisions on the agreed design and content, with all your changes sent together each time. Corrections to our own mistakes don't count toward those rounds. What matters is the size of a change, not when you ask: small adjustments are fine, even after the second round. A major rework, such as starting the design over after you've seen the first version, or new functionality isn't a revision; we'll discuss it and quote it for your approval first.

Your content and timing

We build your site from the text, photos, logos and other information you provide. To keep your project on schedule, please send what we ask for by the dates we agree. Your quote sets the schedule and identifies the materials needed to start each stage. We can work with clearly marked placeholders where practical, so not every piece of content has to be ready before work starts. Missing materials pause the project only when they prevent meaningful progress. Project complexity and client review affect the schedule, and we confirm revised dates when necessary. All placeholders are replaced before launch. Your site's photos and visuals can only be as good as the ones you supply; we aren't responsible for the quality of materials you provide.

If missing materials prevent meaningful progress, we'll tell you in writing that your project is paused and what we still need. The pause period starts on that notice date. If we're still waiting after 30 calendar days, we'll send a written reminder with the closure date. If the materials needed to resume work haven't arrived by 45 calendar days, the project closes. Payments already made cover the original project's work and costs and don't transfer as credit to a new project. The refund terms above still apply. Closing a project before launch does not make the final payment due. If the site has already launched, the final payment remains due under the payment terms. Until the build is paid for in full, site work files we haven't already delivered remain with us; closure does not entitle you to those files. You keep anything already delivered and retain ownership of your own supplied materials. If you return after closure, the new quote at current rates prices the work still needed, taking usable existing work into account rather than recreating it. A new deposit and your approval of the quote are required before work resumes.

Ownership

You own your domain, your site, and your content — outright, once your build is paid for. Ownership isn't tied to staying on a monthly plan.

If you already have a domain, it stays registered in your name wherever you bought it. We point it to your new site by updating its settings, and we carry over your email settings first so your email keeps working. If your current provider doesn't allow that (some website builders don't), we'll help you move the domain to a registrar you choose. If you don't have a domain yet, we can register one for you and transfer it to the registrar you choose once your site is live and paid for. A newly registered domain can't change registrars for its first 60 days. Registration fees are passed through at cost.

Editing and offboarding

Changes go through us during the build and while we manage your site under a monthly agreement. Once your build is paid for and you have no monthly agreement, you may manage the site yourself or use another provider. At offboarding, we provide a zip of the complete site and a detailed guide tailored to its setup: hosting and domain settings, changing text and images, previewing and publishing edits, backups and restoration, and managing forms or third-party services. We help move domain and DNS settings and remove our account access. Editing the files may require technical knowledge or another provider's help. An editing dashboard and training for it are included only when separately scoped and priced in your quote.

Showing your site as our work

We only show your site as an example of our work if you say yes. Your quote asks for that permission separately, and saying no doesn't change anything else in your project.

Monthly plans

  • An optional monthly plan covers hosting, security, backups, uptime monitoring, site upkeep and ongoing local search work, including Google Business Profile management, local search pages and fixes, review-request tools set up for you, and a plain-English monthly report.
  • Website Upkeep & SEO, $750/month. Content changes you ask for aren't included; add Content Updates for $450/month or ask for a one-off quote.
  • Website Upkeep, SEO & Updates, $1,200/month. Also includes your ongoing content updates. The Content Updates add-on is $450/month added to Website Upkeep & SEO and isn't sold on its own.
  • A monthly plan is a separate service fee for ongoing work, not a condition of owning your site. You can decline it and host your finished site elsewhere once it's built.
  • Plans are offered on the sites we build. For a site built by someone else, we review its setup and condition first and give you a written scope and price.

Content updates on your plan

  • On a plan that includes content updates, included work means changes within your existing pages, layouts and features — text, prices, hours, contact details, photos, links and documents — plus routine gallery and catalog updates.
  • You may send as many requests as you like and we work through them one at a time.
  • Replacing a full catalog, bulk imports and restructuring are quoted separately, as are new pages, major layout or design changes, new features or integrations, and substantial new content.
  • Content work that forms part of the local search work on your plan is never billed as extra.

Support and reporting

On a monthly plan, we acknowledge support requests within 24 hours, seven days a week. Issues are assessed and scheduled by severity; outages and broken inquiry forms take priority over cosmetic issues. Acknowledgment does not mean resolution within 24 hours. Routine small edits are normally completed within three business days after we receive the necessary materials and any required approval. Business days are Monday through Friday. We agree the scope and completion date for larger requests before starting; requests outside your plan still require a separate approved price.

Your monthly report covers work completed, measured changes, outstanding issues and next priorities. We identify what each metric measures. Where configured, phone-link clicks are recorded as clicks, not connected calls; accepted form submissions mean the site reported success, not that inbox delivery or a qualified inquiry was confirmed. Measurements don't guarantee rankings, traffic, inquiries or sales.

Cancellation

Monthly plans are month-to-month after launch. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice — there's no long-term contract and no early-cancellation fee. If you cancel, the site and its files are yours to take; we'll provide the files, site-specific guide and account handoff described under Editing and offboarding.

Approval before work starts

Before we begin any work you request, we confirm the scope, the materials you need to provide, the schedule and whether your plan covers it, and you approve that. Work outside your plan proceeds only after you approve its price and payment terms. If the scope changes partway through, we pause and re-agree before continuing. Routine upkeep and local search work needs no separate approval each time; it's authorized by the plan scope in your approved written quote.

What we don't offer

Photos come from you; we build from what you send. We don't currently offer photography or paid ad management.

No guaranteed results

We build fast, search-friendly sites and, on either monthly plan, actively manage your local search presence — but we can't guarantee specific search rankings, traffic, or lead volume, since those also depend on factors outside our control, including your market, your competitors, and changes search engines make on their own.

Liability

Connected Differently Media is only responsible for the services we provide, and isn't liable for the performance of third-party tools, platforms, or hosting providers your site depends on. In no event are we liable for consequential damages of any kind.
