What we found checking 8 local business websites in The Woodlands

On October 22, 2026, we reviewed the homepages of 8 randomly chosen businesses in The Woodlands across a wide range of industries. The figures below summarize those homepage checks. No business is named.

  • Mobile performance score. 6 of 8 homepages scored below Google’s good-score threshold of 90, and 1 of 8 scored below 50, the range Google rates as poor. Scores ran from 48 to 98, with a median of 70.5.
  • Tap-to-call. 5 of 8 homepages had a tap-to-call link, which lets a customer on a phone reach the business in a single tap.
  • Meta description. All 8 homepages had a meta description, the summary Google often shows beneath a business’s name in search results.
  • Structured business data. 4 of 8 homepages included structured business data, which gives Google a business’s name, location and hours in a form it reads directly.
  • Image descriptions. None of the 7 homepages that use images had an image with no alt text attribute. Alt text describes an image to people using screen readers and helps image search interpret it.
  • Businesses without a website. 2 further businesses in The Woodlands we found appeared only as a Facebook page, with no website of their own that we could find, so they aren’t counted in the 8. A Facebook page gives a business fewer options for its contact links and search setup than its own website.

These findings point to areas to investigate in the site, hosting or third-party services. What can be improved depends on the cause; search rankings remain Google’s decision.

Method: Businesses were drawn at random from web searches across many business types, excluding directories and national chains, and only each homepage was reviewed. Of the 10 businesses drawn, 2 blocked our automated check and are left out. Performance scores come from Google PageSpeed Insights’ simulated mobile test, one run per site. Each composite score is a diagnostic signal for investigation, not a measure of every visitor’s experience or evidence of lost business. Scores can vary between runs. Our automated source checks looked for meta descriptions, image alt attributes, structured business data and phone links.

These historical figures come from an automated homepage sample using page source and Google measurements. They are not full manual reviews of those businesses’ websites. Our current free website check adds customer-focused manual judgment across agreed pages, including the homepage and key service, About and Contact pages.

Villages, nearby towns and Google Maps

The Woodlands’ villages include Alden Bridge, Sterling Ridge and Creekside Park.

Google weighs distance from the place named in the search, or from the searcher when no place is named, so a business in Sterling Ridge and one off I-45 in Shenandoah can appear for different searches. What a business controls is how clearly it says where it works:

  • Name your village or nearest town on the site, not only “Houston area”.
  • Keep your Google Business Profile complete and consistent with the site.
  • If you don’t serve customers at your address, list service areas instead of a street address.

Profile setup is part of every build, and either monthly plan includes ongoing management; see Services & Pricing.

Who we are

We’re based in Katy, west of Houston. Our featured project is the website Brad rebuilt for Irresistible Events & Services, a family-owned Katy event-planning business, around its own photography and a simple way to check availability. The live site ↗ and our About page show the work.

Brad has spent years running service businesses across the Houston area, including in Harris and Montgomery counties.

Every site we build includes tap-to-call links, a contact form tested end to end, fast mobile pages, structured business data (LocalBusiness markup) and a Google Business Profile that name your village or town, and outright ownership once the build is paid for.

Prices are published on Services & Pricing, a written quote comes before any work, and Brad is your point of contact through launch.

We build around the questions customers ask before choosing a business: what the service includes, whether it fits their needs and what happens after they inquire. Clear writing, relevant photographs and evidence of your work help visitors make that decision. We preserve useful content and contact paths when updating an existing site.

Where our responsibility ends

Whether a business appears in a search from Spring or Sterling Ridge depends partly on things no web designer controls: how Google ranks businesses and when it updates, how many nearby businesses offer the same service, your reviews, how quickly inquiries get answered, and your pricing.

Our part is the site and its speed, how easily customers can contact you, the structured data, your Google Business Profile, the content we write, and clear reporting. That’s why we talk about what the work makes possible: more of the people who find you able to reach you, and a better chance of showing up in nearby searches. We don’t guarantee rankings or leads.
