Website Design & Local SEO in Houston, TX
Houston is a city of distinct neighborhoods, and Google’s local results weigh how close a business is to the person searching. We build websites and Google Business Profiles that state clearly where a business works.
What we found checking 7 local business websites in Houston
On October 22, 2026, we reviewed the homepages of 7 randomly chosen Houston businesses across a wide range of industries. The figures below summarize those homepage checks. No business is named.
- Mobile performance score. 6 of 7 homepages scored below Google’s good-score threshold of 90, and 2 of 7 scored below 50, the range Google rates as poor. Scores ran from 23 to 92, with a median of 60.
- Tap-to-call. 6 of 7 homepages had a tap-to-call link, which lets a customer on a phone call with a single tap instead of relying on the phone to recognize the number.
- Meta description. All 7 homepages had a meta description, the summary Google often shows beneath a business’s name in search results.
- Structured business data. 4 of 7 homepages included structured business data, which gives Google a business’s name, location and hours in a form it reads directly.
- Image descriptions. 5 of the 7 homepages that use images had at least one image with no alt text attribute. Alt text describes an image to people using screen readers and helps image search interpret it.
These findings point to areas to investigate in the site, hosting or third-party services. What can be improved depends on the cause; search rankings remain Google’s decision.
Method: Businesses were drawn at random from web searches across many business types, excluding directories and national chains, and only each homepage was reviewed. Of the 10 businesses drawn, 3 blocked our automated check and are left out. Performance scores come from Google PageSpeed Insights’ simulated mobile test, one run per site. Each composite score is a diagnostic signal for investigation, not a measure of every visitor’s experience or evidence of lost business. Scores can vary between runs. Our automated source checks looked for meta descriptions, image alt attributes, structured business data and phone links.
These historical figures come from an automated homepage sample using page source and Google measurements. They are not full manual reviews of those businesses’ websites. Our current free website check adds customer-focused manual judgment across agreed pages, including the homepage and key service, About and Contact pages.
Being found across Houston
Google’s local results rest mainly on how well a business matches the search, how far it is from the person searching, and how prominent it is. In a city Houston’s size, distance means a search from Montrose can return different businesses than one from Memorial or the Energy Corridor.
A site that says only “Houston” gives Google little to work with. Name the parts of town you serve, such as inside the Loop or toward Cypress and Katy, and keep your Google Business Profile consistent with the site.
If you don’t serve customers at your own address, Google’s guidance is to list service areas instead of a street address. Profile setup comes with every build, and both monthly plans include ongoing management and a plain-English monthly report; see Services & Pricing.
What we build
We’re based in Katy. Our featured project is the website for Irresistible Events & Services, a family-owned Katy event-planning business, rebuilt around its own photography and a simple way to check availability. You can see the live site ↗ or read about the project on our About page.
Brad has spent years running service businesses across the Houston area, including in Harris and Fort Bend counties.
Every site we build includes:
- A tap-to-call number on every page and a contact form tested until we confirm it reaches you.
- Pages built to load quickly on a phone.
- Structured business data (LocalBusiness markup) and a Google Business Profile set up to match the site.
- Full ownership of the site once the build is paid for, with or without a monthly plan.
Prices are on Services & Pricing, every project starts with a written quote, and you approve every page before launch.
We build around the questions customers ask before choosing a business: what the service includes, whether it fits their needs and what happens after they inquire. Clear writing, relevant photographs and evidence of your work help visitors make that decision. We preserve useful content and contact paths when updating an existing site.
What we control, and what Google decides
- Our responsibility: the build, how fast it loads, how easily customers can contact you, the structured data, your Google Business Profile setup and upkeep, the content we write, and accurate reporting.
- Outside our control: how Google ranks businesses and how quickly it responds to changes, what other Houston businesses in your field do, your reviews, how quickly inquiries get answered, and your pricing.
That’s why we don’t promise rankings, traffic or a number of leads. What the work makes possible is that more of the people who find you can reach you, with a better chance of showing up when someone nearby searches.
